Dear AIBEc students and alumni,

The first week in March is MBA Week in Moscow and there will be several events that you really shouldn’t miss if you are planning to go to another business school or graduate school abroad in the next couple of years. Keep in mind that, the first two events will be particularly worthwhile because they are one-on-one contact events that give you a valuable chance to improve your interviewing skills and learn the right questions to ask. So even if you have your heart set on a particular school that isn’t going to be at these events, you should register for the English language interview practice so that you will be prepared when your chance to interview with your dream school comes. In the past AIBEc graduates have been extremely successful in continuing at some of the world’s top B-schools, like Wharton, Kellog, and our own Dean Kontor at UCLA, so I hope the future won’t be an exception and some of you have high expectations to continue on after AIBEc.

First, on March 1, is the Access MBA Event, at the Hilton Leningradskaya from 16:00 to 21:30. This is one on one interviews with admissions representatives of several top B-Schools, plus panel discussions and consultations on GMAT and MBA advising. Register here http://www.accessmba.com/mba-events/access-mba-tour/moscow-march-1/index.html and the event is free. (You save the 800 ruble fee at the door.)

Second, on March 2 is the QS Connect-1-2-1 Event at the Radisson from 18:00-22:00. This is another one on one interviewing event, although here registration is more difficult because you must submit your CV, and the schools select you for an interview. But on the other hand, with your CV and detailed information in hand the experts at QS can make sure they place you with schools that fit your profile.

Finally, on March 3 at the Radisson, from 17:00 to 21:00 is the QS World MBA Tour and, in a nearby room, the QS World Graduate School Tour. While the former 2 events concentrate on individual interviews and have a relatively small number of schools, this one is the mother of all MBA and Graduate School fairs, bringing together upwards of 50 business schools and graduate programs, and every year attracting around 1000 attendees. You won’t get individual interviews here, but you will be able to expand your knowledge by seeing reps from famous business schools as well as hearing about programs that you maybe weren’t aware of. Plus you can attend panel discussions with representatives from IMD, Kellogg, Wharton, Stanford, INSEAD and more. And if you haven’t decided on an MBA versus a Masters in Finance, LLM or other graduate degree, you can stop in the Graduate School room and compare the various degrees on offer there. Register in advance for both events so that you get in for free and save 200 rubles on each.
