Organizations and How to Survive them. Understanding Personal Adjustment
Styles and Coping Strategies.



      Course offerings, Fall Semester:
      September 18 - December 17, 2006
      Financial Accounting:  This course provides students with a thorough
review of accounting issues of importance to most organizations, such as
Accrual Accounting, Bad Debts, Inventories, Investments, Cash Flows and
Ratio Analysis. US GAAP and IAS concepts are emphasized. Fridays 7pm to
10pm, Art Franczek

      Managerial Accounting:  This course provides students with a thorough
review of most Managerial Accounting issues of importance to many
organizations such as Cost Allocation, Activity Based Costing, Budgeting,
Standard Costing, Just In Time Inventory and many other topics. Wednesdays
7pm to 10pm, Art Franczek

      Comparative Taxation: This course provides students with a thorough
review of tax systems of the U.S., Russia and other countries. The latest
Russian Tax Reforms are discussed along with Offshore Tax Havens and many
other current topics. Saturdays 10am to 1pm, Art Franczek

      Corporate Finance: This course is an introduction to allocation of
capital over time, capital budgeting, financial management and other topics
using basic mathematical models. This course focuses upon the application of
Corporate Finance issues in Russia. Tuesdays 7pm to 10pm, Konstantin Kontor

      Takeovers, Restructuring and Corporate Governance: This course
provides students with an exploration of Takeovers, Mergers, Divestitures,
including strategies and empirical evidence, with examples drawn from
International and Russian experience. Thursdays 7pm to 10pm, Konstantin
Kontor

      Principles of Business Law: This course will cover Origins and  Theory
of Law, Contract Law, Torts, the Court System and Procedure, Evidence,
Debtor-Creditor Law, Negotiable Instruments and the Banking System, Property
& Business Organizations. As a survey course, each area will be touched on
briefly. The course book is based on American law, but where differences
exist Russian law will be explained.  Tuesdays, 7pm to 10pm, Vladimir

      Principles of Marketing: This course provides students with an
overview of marketing in a modern international business. The latest
materials and case studies are used in this course. Mondays 7pm to 10pm, Tom

      Business Development Strategies (Entrepreneurship): This course
provides students with many cases involving the development of new and
continuing venture capital issues both in Russia and in other countries.
Several leading business people will be guest speakers for this course.
Wednesdays 7 pm to 10pm, Tom Nastas

      International Human Resource Management :  This new course aims at
presenting the Human Resource Management theories and practices through a
modern and international perspective for MBA students. With support of
international case studies from leading business schools, the lectures will
be interactive and fun and offer the students a broad spectrum of examples
to develop their knowledge in this field. Although this course is designed
for students with no prior knowledge of HRM, people familiar with this area
will however gain from the Cross-Cultural insight distilled throughout the

      Marketing Research :  This is a new course at AIBEc that will focus
upon the application of International Marketing Research methods in a
Russian business environment. Thursdays 7pm to 10pm, Gregory Troussov

      NEW!  Organizations and How to Survive them. Understanding Personal
Adjustment Styles and Coping Strategies: This course examines the individual
coping strategies and personal styles in dealing with the pressures,
limitations and other challenges one faces in professional practice. Of
particular interest will be the ideas and practical tools for better
understanding the counterproductive coping patterns. Fridays 7pm to 10pm,

      NEW! Media and Public Relations: This is a new and innovative course
that compares the nature of Public Relations in both a Russian and
International context. It covers such topics as how a company deals with
scandals , how to deal with the media, and the role of PR in government. In
addition Many other PR and Media issues will be addressed. Saturdays 1pm to
4pm, John Harrison,

              International Transactions:  Covers topics of interest to
employees of firms in Russia that do business internationally, including
import-export transactions, letters of credit, international organizations
(GATT, WTO, EU), shipping contracts and others. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS CLASS
IS LIMITED TO 10 AIBEC STUDENTS WHO HAVE TAKEN BUSINESS LAW.

Art Franczek (artf at online.ru, 373 6241): Art holds an MBA and MST from
DePaul University and is a CPA. He has many years of experience as a Tax
Manager for a major international company. He has taught at AIBEc for 10
years and has taught over 1500 Russian students. He is currently co-chair of
the Customs Committee at Am Cham and has been an active participant on the
Tax Committee for 10 years. He has written many articles on Accounting/Tax
issues and has recently published a workbook on IAS Accounting and has
worked with The World Bank on a project to convert Russian Accounting to
IAS.

 Konstantin Kontor (kkontor at kkp-partners.ru): Kostya holds an MBA from UCLA
(a top ranked MBA Program) and has worked for several years as the director
of research for RINACO Plus, a major Moscow brokerage firm. He is one of the
first students to graduate from AIBEc in 1992 and has taught finance at
AIBEc since 1994.

Tom Nastas (tom at online.ru): Tom holds an MBA from Michigan State ( a top
ranked MBA Program). He has many years of experience a Venture Capitalist in
Russia and other emerging markets. He has several years of experience
teaching marketing at Michigan State University.

Vladinir Lissniak ,(vlissniak at pericles.ru 692-5188): Vladimir represented
Russia in France for a number of years as a diplomat. He has experience in
bi-and multilateral negotiations both in public and private sectors.
Vladimir has conducted negotiation seminars for Baker & McKenzie and for
other professional organizations.

Jerome Dumetz, (jerome at clamart.net): A French national, jerome studied in
France, Holland and Russia. he has worked in Russia, France, USA and Canada,
also he has conducted variuos projects in other countries. Jerome has taught
Cross-Cultural Management at the Plekhonov Russian Academy of Economics and
is a visiting professor at the Mirbus Institute, Essec Business School and
other organisations. He is a comsultant to various western companies in the
field of cross-cultural management. He holds a bachelors and a masters
degree. Jerome has recently done presentations on Cross-Cultural issues for
The European Business Club and The American Chamber of Commerce.

Gregory Troussov, (troussov at expertkey.com):(www.expertkey.com): Gregory is
the president of "Kontakt-Expert" Consulting Company in Moscow, which
provides consulting services in the areas of strategy,marketing,performance
management, and personel development. Gregory holds an MBA from The
University of Colorado and has lived and worked in the US for several years.
He has extensive experience in applying Marketing Research Methodologies to
Russian companies. Also Gregory has taught marketing at the Economics
Academy in Moscow. He has recently written a book on Marketing in Developing
Economies that will be published soon.

 Ekaterina Mikhailova Phd is a co-founder and a leading counselor of the two
affiliated training institutes: The personal Training Center 'Klass" and
Institute of Group and Family Psychotherapy and Psychology (IGSPP). Since
1995 she has been teaching and training professionals both in the fields of
therapeeutic groupwork and interactive education. She is the author of
several books on various aspects of counseling, training coaching and
psychotherapy including "Vasilisa's Spindles" and the "Trifles of
Psychology".

John Harrison  has worked in Russia for 18 years in various positions. He
was a correspondent for Britains Daily Express, he operated his own firm
daling with PR and media relations for Western companies setting up business
in Russia and he was an editor for pulications such as Russia Review and
Commercial Real Estate. He was a founder of Passport magazine and is
currently its managing editor. He has a Masters degree in Russian studies
from Exeter University.

Marian Dent,(mdent at pericles.ru, ): Marian is a graduate of Boat Hall School
of Law, U. California, Berkley ( a top ranked Law School). She has many
years experience working for major law firms and has been teaching at AIBEc
since 1996. She also teaches courses at CPA Reviews in Moscow and at various
law and accounting firms.
