Pericles ABLE Project is seeking an expert dialectician and grammarian, or
at least someone with excellent grammar and vocabulary skills to teach
GMAT Grammar (approximately 1 Saturday morning or afternoon per month)
TOEFL-iBT Listening and Speaking Sections (approximately 1 evening a week)
GRE-Verbal section (approximately 1 evening a week)
and SAT I Verbal (approximately 1 afternoon a week).
We could accept one teacher for all course openings or several teachers who
only want to do one or two course openings. For those seeking full time
employment, we might also have openings that combine administrative and
marketing skills with teaching.
Minimum Qualifications:
--Native English speaker (American accent preferred for the TOEFL-iBT
course)
--bachelor's degree from a University in an English speaking country, with a
major that requires the extensive use of language and communication or
business skills (ie: journalism, English literature, linguistics, Russian
studies, political science, economics, etc. are acceptable; mathematics or
engineering degrees will generally not be acceptable without more
qualifications);
--personable and outgoing with good presentation skills; and
--teaching experience or a serious interest in teaching.
Preferred Qualifications:
--Masters degree or teaching certificate;
--experience in teaching university level students or in adult skills
training;
--passage of GMAT, LSAT or GRE exam (over five years ago is acceptable).
--Teaching experience with GMAT, TOEFL or other test preparation topics
helpful.
We do NOT require CELTA, TESOL, or TEFL certicates.
Work is:
--With advanced students only
--With adult students (with the exception of SAT applicants)
--In course groups (rather than individual tutorials)
--Located in our training center--does not involve traveling to clients
offices
--Paying 650-800 rubles per hour, depending on the course, or a flat monthly
salary if preferred.
--Including benefits of visa support, access to group health insurance plan,
international mail drop, internet access and email account, library and
video/DVD library privileges.
